The binding is sturdy, and the small format makes the book easy to handle. The index is relatively brief but adequate. Although the book is intended chiefly for students, it deserves a place in any hospital library. It is a worthy junior companion to larger and more elaborate textbooks on surgical anatomy. This book is essential reading for all anaesthesia Primary and Final candidates, as well as providing a valuable quick reference for busy anaesthetists at all levels of experience. Nurses, operating theatre practitioners and other healthcare professionals will also find this book useful in gaining a practical understanding of applied anatomy.

The book provides an overview of the pelvic anatomy in females that helps the laparoscopic surgeons to have a better understanding of the anatomy resulting in better surgical skills. It covers various organs, bones and muscles, nerves, blood vessels, etc. in the pelvic region. Laparoscopy provides good vision in a limited field, which means that surgeons have to rely on their anatomical knowledge of what structures lie in the vicinity and which structures need to be preserved. Focusing on surgical anatomy, the book helps laparoscopic surgeons better understand the female pelvic structures so improve their surgical.

This book is structured in eleven chapters, written by acknowledged experts in the field of gastric cancer and includes the most interesting topics including surgical anatomy, clinical staging. It contains seven hundred pages of closely written matter, dealing essentially with surgical anatomy. Illustrations are infrequent, but as originally designed "the book is intended mainly for the use of students for their final examination in surgery." It is, however, a handy reference book, in which detailed study of illustrations is not required.
